Know thy plants
Walk through the plantations and botanical garden of the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) with a nature guide who will help you get familiar with the extensive plantations, where do these plants come from and their uses. You’ll also learn about the mission and significant contributions CATIE has made towards the research and education of tropical agriculture worldwide.
The main plantations are: coffee, cocoa, peach-palm, a huge variety tropical fruits and also of forest species, some of which can only be found in CATIE.
