Teen Adventure Camp (Tamarindo)

We believe in making language learning fun. Through immersive learning, alongside with fun interactive experiences to make an unforgettable and challenging study abroad experience.

This camp is meant to seamlessly mix Spanish education with challenging and fun experiences where the new knowledge can be applied. Having one of the most beautiful beaches in the world as our scenario just make things even better.

Playa Tamarindo is located on the Northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica and is a world-famous surfing destination with different breaks, ideal for surfers of all levels and abilities, from beginner to advanced. Because of the great year-round weather, proximity to numerous beaches and protected forests, this area of Costa Rica is the perfect place to experience adventure tourism at its best. We will explore the surrounding natural wonders of the Guanacaste Province, we will raft down mountain rivers, zip line through forest canopies, horseback ride on white sand beaches, sea kayak to pristine islands, swim in crystal blue bays and hike to towering waterfalls.

Besides the adventure activities, surf and Spanish lessons, we’ll have cultural activities such as Latin dance classes and cooking classes. We are also committed to help protect the beauty and natural environment of Costa Rica. To give back, all students will participate in a beach clean-up each Friday.

No prior Spanish experience is necessary to join, although it does help! Students will be separated into age and level appropriate Spanish classes.

Our Playa Tamarindo Teen Camp has both an Overnight (Residential) Camp option and a Day Camp option. All students attend 4 hours/day of level-appropriate Spanish lessons and lunch, Monday through Friday. Both camp options are composed of the same basic daily structure and itinerary, plus three different afternoon activities from which to choose: Surf, Adventure and Intensive Spanish.

In addition to the above schedule of lessons and activities, residential campers also receive lodging at our camp compound, all meals, a two-day weekend adventure tour, 24-hour supervision and accident/travel insurance. We offer Airport pick-up and drop-off service for all students and families.

What to bring

Sturdy water shoes, rain ponchos, flashlights, multiple swimsuits, beach towels, at least one pair of pants, bug repellent and sunscreen are required.
Students are asked to bring all their belongings in a waterproof backpack.
It is not recommended that students bring any unnecessary electronic devices that might be ruined by exposure to rain or water.

Spanish Class

Spanish classes are held at our private Spanish Institute in Tamarindo, Guanacaste.
Classes are Monday to Friday 8am – 2:00pm, with a snack break at 10am.
All students are given a language evaluation to determine their level and then split up into classes that best fit their abilities.

Flight details

Airport pick up is not included in the camp price but can be arranged for an additional fee.
Students are recommended to fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR)

Discounts

Teen Long Term Discount:

Residential campers attending 4 weeks or more will receive a $500 discount. Please see our Terms & Conditions below for more details and exclusions.
Sibling Discount:

If two or more siblings sign up to attend our camps at the same time, they will each receive a discount, applicable as follows: $50/week off for Teen residential campers, $25/week off for Teen day campers, $25/week for the Children’s Spanish Camp. (Adult and Pre-K students are not eligible for this discount.)
